About Us
By the time Bill Mischler pulled the first residential building permit to be issued in Palmetto Bluff, Genesis Construction had been building trust and relationships, as well as homes, since 1981. Genesis was known as an artistic, creative builder who thoroughly understood the desires of clients, and worked harmoniously with architects. In fact, architects chose Genesis to build their own homes, and became an important source of referrals.
Since retaining the best people and subcontractors is just as important as artistic taste and passion, Genesis earned the loyalty of the finest talent around. Being as careful in detail about finance and communication as they were with materials and workmanship, Genesis became preferred among vendors and subcontractors as they were among clients.
In fact, clients’ satisfaction was so great that Genesis was selected by the developer to be the first home builder for Palmetto Bluff and was called upon to write the building specifications for all homes to be created in Wilson Village, the communities first residential neighborhood.
The Genesis of a New Generation
When the time came to pass the Genesis torch to a new generation, Bill considered carefully, “Who’s going to be there for our clients the same way I would be?” He watched carefully for someone in the custom building world who shared Bill’s own philosophy and capacity to care. “I didn’t meet anyone who came close to Alex,” he said. Bill chose Alex Haynes to join with him, and eventually to succeed him in leading Genesis further into the new century.
“I observed Alex working on some of Palmetto Bluff’s original, signature public projects,” Bill said. The Canoe Club, the Fitness Club, the Wilson Landing Ships’ Store, and the River Road Amenity Center testify to the contributions Alex made to the style of living that is Palmetto Bluff. “Listening to Alex talk, and then seeing his subsequent emails, it was as if I had written them myself,” Bill said.
Trust and Confidence in Detail
“What sets Genesis apart,” Alex said, “is the level of detail. Quality detail is what comes first to the attention of our clients. And it extends to every aspect of building, in the plans, in the finances, and in the field.”
“Detail fosters a foundation of confidence,” Alex said. “When what you can see is correct and exquisitely executed, then you feel the same attention has gone to the things you can’t see, too.”
So this is how we carry on. The second generation of Genesis is not really new; it’s the ongoing achievement of a story that began with integrity and putting the client first. We intend to continue a legacy. And the story, like the name, is always beginning.
